HKU Service 100 Fund

Mansyun Association (Branch of The University of Hong Kong) was found in 2012, financed by HKU Service 100 Fund. In 2012-2013, our first year of running in HKU, we recruited more than 30 fellow students as volunteers. In the following summer, we started a senior-primary tutorial class in Wong Tai Sin, assisting them to finish their vacation assignment. We also prepared English storybooks and read with them, aiming to enhance their confidence in learning English, as well as teaching them grammar and vocabulary through reading. In 2013-2014, the HKU branch is funded by HKU Service 100 Fund for the second time.

This year, we planned to serve mainly S4-S6 students who are preparing for DSE, not only providing tutorials for them, but we hope them the HKU voluntary tutors can also act as a peer mentor to provide them some insights about university life, and guiding the mentees to find their own interests and set goals, as well as preparing a HKU Visit for them, thus to motivate them studying harder for DSE and fight for a place in universities. We are now recruiting HKU fellow students to join the program as volunteer tutors and mentors, if you are also enthusiastic about serving underprivileged students in Hong Kong, please don’t hesitate and apply now!
